We have finally come to the end of Acts! Paul was taken onto a boat by a Roman centurian named Julius, to go to Rome. Paul didn't think it was a good idea to sail at that time, because winter was on its' way but they sailed anyway, and got caught in a terrible storm. They started throwing everything off of the boat but the storm kept going. The others started to get scared and wanted to jump off the boat but God told Paul that all of them needed to stay on the boat, and that all of them would be safe. Paul trusted God and when the ship ran aground, God kept them all safe as they swam to shore.
There were islanders who welcomed them and built a fire to help them dry off. Paul helped but was bitten by a poisonous snake. Everyone was convinced that he would die in the night, and were very surprised when he was fine. After winter had passed, Paul made it to Rome and lived under house arrest for two years. Even though he had to stay in his house, people kept coming to see him, to hear about God. Paul also wrote a lot of letters in that time.
Throughout the entire Bible story, Paul had given up his desires. He gave up his personal safety, going through dangerous situations. He didn't try to escape or stay at home; he desired God's plan for him, which was to go to Rome to speak before Caesar. This wasn't through Paul's stength at all; on our own, we are selfish and follow our own desires.
We also had a game show called "Let Go or Say No", where contestants watched different scenarios and saw if the people let go of their desires, or said no to letting go. Lady Lala also made an appearance to teach the memory verse.
