Amelia was sick with Malaria, so her assistant Michael took over. He introduced the group to Professor Felix, a scholar who lived in Egypt. He was very smart and knew a lot of things about Ancient Egypt and about the culture. He explained a few things to the group, so that the next part of Moses' story would make sense. He explained that the safest way to pick up a snake was by its' head so that it can't bite you. Then he explained leprosy, how in the Bible, it symbolizes sin. The third thing was that blood always represents life, in the Bible.
God met with Moses at the burning bush. After telling Moses that He would use Moses to lead the people out of Egypt, Moses made excuses. Moses, looking at himself, was held back by his lack of power, his own sin and his fear of Pharaoh and the people. God gave him three object lessons to remind Moses that God was bigger. God turned the staff to a snake and when Moses grabbed it by the tail, God turned it back into a staff showing Moses that God has all the authority over all evil and Moses has nothing to be afraid of.
Object lesson number 2 was the leprous hand. Leprousy always symbolizes sin in scripture. By healing Moses's leprous hand God was showing Moses that He was bigger than sin including the murder Moses committed years before.
The final object lesson was God turning water into blood. Blood always symbolized life in scripture. God was showing Moses that He is the Life. He is everything that Moses needs for the job God wants to use Moses for. Moses finally told God he just didn't want to go. God got angry and in the end Moses went.
The tour group went over the memory verse after, which was 1 Corninthians 15:57 "But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Chist." God is our victory in all things.
