We had our first Pro D Day camp of the year on Monday and it was a blast! With a wintry theme, we had just over 70 kids come for a day of singing, awesome crafts and dramatic skits. Games included plunger skiing and freeze tag. In the craft, kids got to make pipe cleaner penguins, set in a snowy scene (though some kids chose to make snowmen or abominable snow monsters instead).
The skits told a story about a King and his kingdom of loyal subjects. It was time for the annual winter carneval, which everyone in the kingdom came to see. The entire royal court started to get ready and one little girl came out and tried to help. But everyone told her she was too small and would only get in the way. And there was another problem: all the snow and ice was melting! The little girl found out that the evil Sir Jeffery the 3rd was melting the snow, to ruin the carnival. The royal court tried to trap Sir Jeffery but each of them failed. Finally, the king told the little girl a plan that only she could do, because she was so small. Bravely, she followed the plan and Sir Jeffery was defeated!
We learned from this story that God loves all of us and loves to use each of us for His amazing plans. Sometimes people make us feel small or tell us we can't do anything, but God uses everyone, even the smallest and weakest. In fact, God likes to use the weakest because they know they are weak and need God's help.
The day was so much fun and we're already planning for the next camp. Keep an eye out for information on Spring Break Camp!
